Macon County Girls basketball will host Grundy County tomorrow, Friday Feb. 26th at 7:00 PM at Nera White Gymnasium. Tickets will be sold tomorrow at MCHigh School's main office from 8:00-3:00. Price is $7.00 and may also be purchased the night of the game. Doors will open at 5:30.

Sorry we have been delayed on setting up a day for parents that want to drop off their children’s supplies early. Parents will drop them off at the front door of the main entrance and someone will be there to take them to your child’s homebase teacher or locker if it has been assigned.
With that being said, you can send your supplies the first of school with your child. There isn’t a real need to bring them early other than having them their on the first day when the students arrive.

On Tues. Aug. 11th the Macon Co Bd of Ed will hold it's monthly work session at 6pm and then the regular scheduled Board Meeting on Aug. 13 at 6pm. Both meetings will be closed to the public and broadcast via Facebook Live on the school district page.

MCHS and RBSHS students who will be attending TCAT (vocational school) at the RBS campus will be required to wear a mask. This is per Tennessee College of Applied Technology rules and regulations. Masks will be provided by TCAT or your child can bring their own.

Virtual Campus Registration/Info Meeting: Monday, Aug.3 at 8am or 2pm. This is NOT a come and go registration. The meeting will begin at 8am and then repeated at 2pm for anyone that prefers that time slot. Please arrive on time for this meeting as it will start promptly at 8am and 2pm. IF you have not registered your child when you arrive Monday, you can enroll during this meeting. All Virtual Campus info will be discussed and the process to sign up given out. All parents have until Wednesday at 10am to make their final decision about Virtual Campus. It is perfectly fine to attend Monday to get the info then think thru it and sign up by Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 10am. For any parents that do not wish to attend the meeting Monday due to Covid concerns, the meeting documents are already posted and the slide presentation from the meeting will be added after the 2pm meeting. If you do not plan to attend, please take time to read the Back To School Safety plan for each school as well as the complete Virtual Campus guide and then the slides presentation once posted to ensure you have all the CORRECT info on the program.
On-site Registration: For parents sending their children to school on-site...who have not registered in Skyward or at Kindergarten pre-registration, this will be held Tuesday, Aug. 4th. from 8-10am. This is a come and go event as it is each year. Schools will have packets ready for parents to complete at each school. Please go to your child's school anytime this day between 8-10am. Again, IF you did online registration or registered your kindergarten student during pre-registration, you do not need to attend this registration to do anything further.

RBS will have only one more pick up day for yearbooks and spring pictures. This date is July 9th 9AM-12PM. This will the a drive-though no one will get out of their vehicle. Today, Wednesday June 24, is the last day of the Summer Meal program. You may pickup meals 9:30-12:30 at Macon County Jr High School.

The Macon County School System would like to inform all attendees of the MCHS graduation ceremony on Friday night that a school system employee, who had close contact with several graduating seniors and other attendees, has tested positive for COVID-19. This person did not exhibit systems until Sunday morning but they have tested positive. The Macon County School System is deeply sorry for any inconvenience this exposure has created for those in attendance. The guidelines below from department of health can be followed:
• Identify those who have been within six feet of the individual for 10 minutes or more at any time within 48 hours before the individual’s onset of symptoms until the individual has left school property. Those individuals will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days from their last exposure to that individual.
• Testing for COVIS-19 is recommended if you fall into the above category.

Meal Program Correction....the summer meal program will continue this week as pickup only...the home delivery of meals is the only part of the program cancelled this week. Meal pickup will run the same this week.

Due to the continued increase in COVID-19 cases in Macon County, the school system summer meal pickup/delivery program is cancelled for this week.

MCHS Graduation Attendees:

Macon County Students who receive free or reduced priced lunch is now eligible to receive a Pandemic EBT card. Students at all Macon County elementary schools, including Red Boiling Springs Elementary and Red Boiling Springs High School are eligible to receive these benefits. MCJH will have its first FCA meeting of the year on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 7:15 am. Meetings will be every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.

OSHA and Substitute Teacher In-service for anyone who would like to work as a Substitute Teacher in Macon County will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in the Central Office beginning at 9:00 a.m. If you have any questions please call our office at 615-666-2125.

The MCHS Homecoming Parade start time has been moved to 12:30pm instead of 1pm as previously scheduled. With the predicted heat index, the parade will start at 12:30pm to shorten the wait time elem students will be outdoors and to allow them to cool down before loading busses.

Reminder**Makin' Macon Fit is this Sat, Sept 7th at MCJH. Registration begins at 7am!! Parking will be thru the first drive(one closest to Anderson FH) and then around behind school. All children in bike rodeo must have a helmet to participate. Hope to see you there!!

All parents registering returning students tomorrow will do so online at the school. Labs are ready and staff will assist if needed. You may register all your students at one location. Please be sure to visit between 8-10am to register...all Open Houses tomorrow 3-6pm

Skyward On-line Registration is now locked. Anyone that did not register will need to attend their child's school tomorrow between 8-10am to register. At the close of on-line registration, 2,143 students were registered. Many thanks to all of the parents!!!

On-line Registration will close Wednesday July 31 at 3pm. On-site Registration will be Thursday August 1st from 8-10am. No busses will run on Registration Day. The first regular of school is Monday August 5th and busses will begin normal routes.

Skyward Educator Access and Skyward Parent Access have been unlocked and available schedules posted. If you child's schedule is not available at this time, continue checking back with the app. Student information is continually being updated as we prepare for school to start.

Fri, July 24 is the Project Grad Class of 20 3rd Annual Yard Sale in the MCHS Cafeteria from 7am-5pm. All items are $1, full bags are $5 and large bags are $10. All proceeds go to Project Graduation. All donations from senior class members and their families.

Online Registration will close on July 31st. On-site Registration is Aug. 1st from 8-10am. Buses will not run on Aug. 1 for Registration. All normal bus routes will begin on the 1st full day of school-Mon. August 5th.

All Pre-K slots are now full. If your child received a slot in the program, a call has been made from the program teachers to let you know. Anyone that applied that has not been notified is now on a waiting list at each school for future openings in the program.

Anyone that emails skywardhelpdesk@maconcountyschools.org for account assistance must provide the parent name and all student names for the account needed. Accounts cannot be created without this information.
